Day 10 – A day of variety

We discovered today that we had variety of things planned and unplanned that just fell into place.

It all began with an unplanned walk up a forest road.

P1050216We went two miles up and back down again.  The road actually goes up for 3.6 miles, one day we will do the entire trail.  Part of the trail borders farm land.  We had a watchful eye on us, a gentle cow.

P1050220Once the road starts going up the views are lovely, especially on the way down.

After our exercise, we were famished and Mike made us an asparagus omelet.

After eating, the tide was out and everyone was snorkeling, we decided to join the fun.  The water was clear, little wave action and the fishes were colorful.

Mike was lucky enough to see the nudibranch.

P1050240After the snorkel, our appetite awakened again. We set off to Kono’s for lunch in Haleiwa.  We had two great sandwiches and homemade POG.  We will be back for lunch and maybe a breakfast wrap before we leave.

We spent a lazy afternoon of napping and reading, should that surprise anyone?  We had a dinner date in the evening, so we wanted to have an easy going afternoon.

We were having dinner with our friends at Monkeypod in Ko’Olina.  Tasty dinner, but the  the drinks and their pie were might yummy.  We all agreed you could easily go for drinks and pie.  The musicians playing tonight were very talented and the volume wasn’t overbearing. We really had a nice evening out.

We had a day of variety; different animals, a hike that was a road walk, meals homemade and created by others, hanging with friends.  Another day of activities that we made beforehand and on the spur of the moment that all wove nicely together.  Can’t ask for much more.
