Apricot Jelly – Not Intended for Your Toast

I love to photograph fungus, if for nothing else to discover its common name.  Who comes up with these names? Some I can understand because they do look like their common name, coral fungus is a great example of that.  But Apricot Jelly? Does this really look like apricot jelly?

The details: a jelly fungi, there are more out there. When they dry you can rehydrate them in water. In the Far East, they use them to flavor soups.  I am a soup fan, but again wouldn’t try it.
