Woke up to you guessed it, thick fog. It surrounded our rental.

Drove to Tickle Cove, but the fog was to much and made for unsafe hiking. Through the little village we drove and stopped at two beautiful churches.

Through the fog we drove to Bonavista to Dungeon Provincial Park. We had visited the main attraction last year, we drove though this time. We did luck out to see sheep grazing and it made for a lovely photo stop.

We stopped in at Bonavista lighthose, another redo site for us.

Our last stop was at Foggy Shoals fish shop. Found out the new owners are from Massachusetts, a retired teacher and her husband.

Day 21

Fog again, our old friend.

Hiked Fox Island, across from the Sherwink Trail. We preferred this trail over Sherwink.

Last stop of the day was Open Hall Sea Arch in Tickle Cove, best arch we have seen.

Day 22

Drove to our next rent in Cape Broyle, disappointing rental.

Day 23

Off to the big city for the day, St. John’s.

After running a few errands, headed to a great cafe for lunch, Rabble. We checked out some of the shops and I purchased a puffin hat.

That’s it, all we did that day.

Day 24

Drove to Chance Cove Provincial Park (don’t get it confused with the Chance Cove, we are ending our trip with). For the dirt road we drove to get to it, it was meh.

Onward we went on the Irish Loop. We visited the Cape Pine Lighthouse. I really loved this one.

We visited the tiny town of St. Schott’s to end the day.

Day 25

It was a two hike day. The purpose of staying in this village was to have close access to the East Coast Trail network. Unfortunately the weather only gave us one full day out of three to hike portions of the trail.

Our first hike was Spout Path. We only hiked a total of 2.5 miles. The hike began with us spotting a fox.

Our second hike was Beaches Path. We hiked a total of 2.75 miles. This hike reminded me of hiking in Acadia.

Our final stop of the day was Stone Ducky, had one of the best veggie pizza. No photo but trust me it was great.

Day 26

Move day to our final rental of the trip, Chance Cove. Before we made it to Chance Cove, we stopped in St. John’s to Signal Hill.

We stopped at the Geopark museum, it was created to show the rock around this area. You had to take an elevator down and the museum was craved into the rock. We didn’t stay long, as there were camp groups running around.

We needed lunch. We discovered The Pantry over by St. John’s hospital. It is run by the Autism Society of Newfoundland. Some of the food sourced is from their own gardens. The staff are Autistic adults. The food was a phenomenal.

Finally we could go to our rental. We stayed for a week last year at The Cozy. It is one of my favorite rentals. After settling in we were welcomed with a faint rainbow.

We tucked in for the evening, planning the next day’s adventures.
