Our first stop of the day was to a local strawberry picking farm. We purchased some strawberries (already picked) and a new to us food, haskap berries. We stood in the parking lot eating them, sweet and tart.
The next stop was an hour away to see the Giant Squid at the Giant Squid Interpretation Center. We spent more time hanging out with the squid, then we did inside the little information center. The view from the center was beautiful.
Our final trip was to Leading Tickles to do a short hike of the Ocean View. I took a stumble the other day and hurt my good ankle, so I’ve been taking the hiking easy as we have some big hikes coming up this week. Today the hike was a total of 1 mile.
We had lunch at this little cove, then headed back.
It was so hot, there is a heat warning out for our side of the island and province wide fire hazard is very high due to the heat and lack of rain. Of course rain is predicted for our next camping adventure, ughhh. The island needs it but the timing.
Tomorrow we are headed to the famous Twillingate to do some hiking.
