Today we said goodbye to the eagle family and moved four hours southeast.
Two and a half hours into our ride, we stopped at Terra Nova National Park to do one small hike. We did Mill Cove Lookout, a short 30 minute hike.

After the hike, we drove to the top of Blue Hill to sit on our first Red Chairs in Newfoundland.

We ate our lunch at the visitor center playground and then continued our way, another 1.5 hour drive.
We arrived at the house and the listing doesn’t even do the cottage justice. The owner nailed the seafaring ocean theme throughout the entire house. However the real stunner is the backyard view.

The owner knew our 35th wedding anniversary was coming up and she left us an anniversary gift.

As we sat outside admiring the view, we heard the distinct sound of a whale blowing. Yes, we had our first whale sighting. The pictures are meh, as our good camera was in the house and we didn’t want to run back in to get it. We believe it is a minke whale.

We walked down to the beach to see the capelin fish rolling in, which draws in the whales. Hopefully tomorrow there will be more whales.

This was a great start to the week we are at this location. So excited to be celebrating our anniversary here.
