Usually when we travel we like to find the local botanical gardens. If you are ever in Hawaii, both Kauai and Oahu have great ones. Before we leave the island we knew we had to visit the one here.
However before we left for the day, Mother Nature provided us with a double rainbow to fill our cups with.

We actually went to see the school bus crushed by a hurricane in 1979 in the garden. That hurricane wrecked the botanical garden and it has morphed into more of a park like setting. The bus was crushed by a falling Baobab tree. The bus was empty, don’t you fret.

After a 10 minute walk around we went to find Jack’s Walk that would lead us up to Morne Bruce. We had to go way up there.

FYI it didn’t take us 20 minutes and we could have driven up, but what fun is that?

We knew we would have a great overlook of the capitol, Roseau. We didn’t know there was a shrine or a canon up there. When we saw it and wandered around for bit, Mike said it would be the perfect spot for Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, walk up and it’s pilgrimage. We read the sign and Mike was correct.

It was the perfect weather day to be here. I even spotted a low flying hawk.

Leave it to us to make the walk up an unknowing pilgrimage.
