We had another tropical wave move in overnight, causing heavy rain island wide. This means two things, roads might have rock slides and waterfalls would be raging.
We made a plan to visit two waterfalls, Emerald Pool and Salton or Solton Falls because of the rage. Yes on the way to them, we encountered a few boulders in the road and some flooded roads that had receded by the time we passed through.
Emerald Pool is a popular tourist destination, especially when cruise ships come in (they aren’t here now). It was a short easy walk to the Emerald Pool. The sun wasn’t shining so we lost some of the glimmering pool experience you would see in photos. Mike hopped in the water, but I opted to stay out and just admire from the platform.

We opted for the loop trail which gave some views out towards the Atlantic.

After that we drove to Salton or Solton Falls. OMG, so far to date this is our favorite waterfall. It was on private land, though easy to get to. We spent an hour and half playing here. Due to all the rain last night, there were extra falls created and flowing. We felt like little kids.

Our cameras steamed up, were rained on and waterfall mist covered the camera lens, so excuse some photos that look a little watery. I think our Christmas card photo might have happened.
On our way back to the cottage, we stopped at a fruit stand for, you guessed it more fruit. In another town we drove past a woman selling bread on the side of the road. Mike backed up and I picked up two loaves because of a conversation I had with someone else buying bread.
This man told me every time he comes home he picks up many loaves from her. He is a Navy guy stationed in San Diego. He told us it the best with our coffee, got it. I wasn’t sure what type of bread it was, so once back I ripped a hunk off and it’s a ginger bread, not in a our typical fashion. I could eat it everyday.

Remember rain can bring rainbows, but also stunning waterfalls (let’s not talk about rock slides).
