Day 29 – The Final Day

IMG_3145Our final morning and we zoomed off to Haleiwa Public Beach to see if it was a good photo opt.  We stopped at the Coffee Gallery, picked up a very large coffee and went to the beach.  Only to be greeted by spits of rain and dark cliffs, not photo worthy.

Back to the house to have the clean out the fridge kind of breakfast.  Lovely eggs with spinach and veggies, accompanied by a  banana, dragonfruit and lilikoi smoothie.  Great energy boost for  the last bit of cleaning and packing that had to be completed.

We ran out to the bakery to pick up half a dozen snow puffies to drop off at our friend’s house and we discovered The Beet Box Cafe in Haleiwa.  We purchased two sandwiches for the plane ride home.  Great vegetarian fare and this place has a fun vibe to it.

On our way back to the cottage, BK’s Big Boy Poke was set up on Waialau Beach Road, unusual for a Sunday.  We had to stop and pick up one last container of poke for the plane ride home.  Great couple who own this business.

Once at the house, the property owner met us and we went over last minute things, wrapping up our time at her rental house.  I snapped a few more photos as we said goodbye.

Everything went smoothly and our plane was on time.  Mike enjoyed his poke on the plane.

It was a grand adventure, happy that we could have this experience, see friends, eat at some great food joints, fun hikes, watch turtles and just be….
