Our day began with a beach walk of 1.75 miles at South Harbour Beach. A three minute drive from the rental. It was a stunning beach, even in the mist.

Up next was hike to Mica Hill. We hiked 5.1 miles in 2:20. The hike is located in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. We walked through a coniferous forest to arrive at a highlands plateau. Due to heavy mist we didn’t see out to the ocean, but still it was a beautiful walk.

We ate our lunch at Black Brook Beach, the view was lovely. Who knew there are such great beaches here?

Our next stop was an unintended goat experience that included gelato!

Our final stop was at Green Cove to walk the rocks and enjoy some ocean views

It was full day today. Tomorrow we say goodbye to Cape Breton Island. It has been a wonderful time and only scratched the surface of this place.
We are off to North Sydney, Nova Scotia tomorrow to catch the Newfoundland ferry on Wednesday morning.
