Day 31 – Hike on a Slope

I wanted to hike the other end of the Wai’tukubuli National Trail segment 13. Five days ago we hiked the other side of it. On each part of the segment we never made it to the middle.

This hike was on a slope of a mountain with a narrow trail in some places. For me I had minor freak outs, so that is a huge win for me today. We were passed by a man with a machete and his dog. He was taking the trail to the next town, which seems to be common. He made the hike look like a walk in the park, as I stuttered stepped in certain parts.

The views on this part of the trail were beautiful. We did 2.83 miles in 2.19 hours which included a snack break. Our elevation gain was 551 feet which isn’t much of a gain around here.

We finished around lunchtime, so we headed back to the cottage for lunch, read and nap time.

It was a simple day with a beautiful hike.
