Day 23 – Repeat River

We decided to give Chaudiere Pool another visit. The first time we went the river was to strong to walk to find the pools, so we didn’t.

We had hoped the river had calmed down today. Unfortunately it had not. We knew it was questionable when we heard the roar of the river from up above it.

It was a good workout and we did see a flock of parrots. Our cameras were pocketed due to a light mist, so we missed the photo opportunity, but we do have pictures of goats in the path.

We decided to take a different route back to the cottage with three unexpected stops. The first stop was in Thibaud at a little beach park that didn’t have much in way of a park, just a really pretty spot.

Next stop was Au Parc, which looked like it wanted to be a little fishing site and recreation area. It used to have showers, bathrooms, boat ramp, viewing platforms, and a gazebo. It looks like it was recently abandoned.

Our last stop was the scenic viewpoint, Savanne Paille that overlooks Prince Rupert Sound.

We returned home to no power. The electric company does load shedding (think of rolling blackouts) because the company can’t handle the load of the entire island. It was the north’s area to lose it from 2:30-8:30, yup in the heat of the day.

We hung out for a while, then decided to check out Coconut Beach about 10 minutes away. We had a nice stroll.

It finally cooled down so we returned to the cottage for dinner. The power came on an hour earlier, which is unheard of.

Just a quite day with a tour of the north end of the island.
